The Making of America

W. Cleon Skousen's magnum opus....The Making of America - The Substance and Meaning of the Constitution.

Skousen has written dozens of books and audios on several different topics. However, this work stands as his greatest acheivement. In this work, that took a team of researchers years to complete, Skousen wrote the source documents of all the founding fathers to make a very easy reading book on the formational period of America including:

1. The attack on Boston and the "shot heard around the world"
2. The formation of the Declaration of Independance. The history around it, and what each article was intended to mean, in the words of the Founders themselves.
3. The formation of the 1st Country in America organized under the Articles of Confederation.
4. The major battles of the Revolutionary War, including the debate issues of the different colonies.
5. The time period between the War and the Constitutional Convention, showing light on the "paper money" issue
6. The Constitutional Convention debate issues
7. The source of the principles of the Constitution as ancient Israel, with documented proof.
8. The Constitution itself with each article explained...in the words of the Founders themselves.
9. The Bill of Rights and The amendments to the Constitution over time...with the history of each amendment.
   
   

Of all the books that I own or have ever read....including my own book that i wrote, this book "The Making of America" is my most favorite book besides God's scripture.

I teach it to my children. it is the only book needed for American Government class. it is in textbook format to be used in school classrooms. 

My only problem,.....it doesn't come in Audiobook format.
